Like everyone, we have been putting a lot of thought and care into what our next steps should be at this time. Effective immediately, CFAT will be putting a halt to all rentals, use of facilities and programming for at least three weeks, with a reassessment on April 7th 2020.

For March, we were expecting the exhibitions and opening receptions of both our Curator in Residence program, "Nightly Ritual" curated by Emily Davidson and Maddie Alexander, as well as our 40th Anniversary exhibition, "The More Things Change..." featuring the works of Life of a Craphead, Raven Davis, Divya Mehra and Veronica Simmonds. We will be working to get these shows up in the future, but will be holding safety precautions before anything else at this time. We look forward to making these exhibitions happen, when it is safe to do so.

We will be keeping our current call open and extending the deadline to March 30th, Call for Submissions: The Unseen. The work for this particular call can be done remotely, so there is no risk being taken in going ahead with the creation process of this program. CFAT will be closed, so if you are looking to apply, please let us know via email. We will continue to accommodate non-written applications (phone calls, videos, audio recordings) as best we can, however we will not be able to do in-person applications. If you would like to apply in a non-written format, please contact our Interim Executive Director, Cortney at cortney@cfat.ca.

As of right now, we will continue to go ahead with planned Calls for Submissions that will be posted in the coming weeks/months. As always, CFAT is prioritizing getting artists paid, and especially during this time. The calls that will be coming out are related to Nocturne and our flagship program, the Media Arts Scholarships. Both of the programs aren't set to begin until the summer/fall, but we will be evaluating timelines as needed in order to stay responsible and safe. More details on these calls will be coming out in the near future.

We will continue to evaluate our situation in the coming weeks and will stay in touch with you with further updates. We are wishing everyone well during this strange time and hope that you are all staying safe.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to get in touch with us. You can email Cortney at cortney@cfat.ca.

Take care xo
