    Hello/Saludos!

I hope you are all staying safe and warm today. Let me take this moment to properly introduce myself. My name is Sofia. I am an immigrant from Guatemala and an interdisciplinary artist currently based in K’jipuktuk (Halifax).

I mostly make cartoons, comics and illustrations but for the past few months I’ve been teaching myself how to make hand drawn frame by frame animations in photoshop.

Themes I often explore through my work are body image in relation to Eurocentric beauty ideals and Latin America identity; consumption/consumerism; and food.

Thank you CFAT for this opportunity and I look forward to sharing more work as the week progresses.

Happy first day of fall! 🍂🌧

The last remnants of summer dissolving away.

It’s officially fall but warmth is still in the air. I hope you all had a chance to enjoy it.
