Announcing Our New OV Coordinator

THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CENTRE FOR ART TAPES IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE OUR OFFICE VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR, BARBARA JESSOME!

Barbara graduated from the Public Relations program at the Nova Scotia Community College in 2014. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in Psychology and minor in Cultural Studies, from Mount Saint Vincent University.

Barbara began her career in communications working at the Halifax International Airport Authority (HIAA). While at HIAA she managed the Facebook, Twitter and YouTube accounts, handled media inquires and organized media events. She also wrote for the airport newsletter and assisted with public communications around capital projects at the airport.

Barbara is the Director of Social Media for the Maritimes chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC). She Tweets and posts about IABC events, professional development sessions and current communications trends.

During her contact with CFAT she will use social media to help build a buzz around CFAT, engage with existing and potential members, help promote members’ work and generate new funding. She looks forward to working in a creative space and learning about all of the interesting projects that come to life at CFAT.
